Early fifties radio cabinet (1/3 scale)
thingiverse
This entry showcases a scaled model of a Zenith K-518 clock radio from 1953, which is currently being restored. The design includes a working AM radio with a clock on the left side, a speaker in the center, and tuning panel on the right. The volume control nob would be located at the lower left while the tuning control nob would be on the right. Due to space constraints, the size of the cabinet may need to be adjusted according to the printer's capacity. However, the speaker grill might present printing challenges that require expert advice. The provided STL file contains all design elements, but it seems to have issues with scale that needs fixing. The radio circuit would likely use a single-chip AM radio such as TEA555IT by Philips. A tensioned string might be required for the tuning cap's connection to the tuning nob, similar to the original model. Despite its small size, incorporating subminiature tubes, like in the original design, would be ideal but may not fit the proposed case dimensions.
