This person uses their fingers to manually create facial structures and then inserts small objects to resemble facial features. They start by applying liquid clay to an armature of wire and paper mache, allowing it to set. Using this mixture as a foundation, the sculptor builds out cheekbones, the shape of the eyes, the nose, the mouth, and even eyelashes on either side of their face. Then they work on detailing facial muscles that would enable them to express a range of emotions through small creases or indentations made by placing pins into areas such as forehead lines and the edges around mouths.
