Earbud shell with support
thingiverse
The earbud holder design by sneakypoo is admirable, but I'm not fond of enabling support in my slicer. Hence, I designed a modified version of the shell parts featuring built-in support flanges that can be easily removed after printing. This way, you can print the shells with attractive nubs without requiring support. For my prototypes, I employed ABS and set the layer height to 0.25mm, extrusion width to 0.49mm, printed with 2 perimeters, and filled it with 50% infill. Post-printing, a craft knife was used for precise trimming of small triangular support pieces. Next on my list is trying out PLA copies in vibrant colors!
