Earbud, Airpod, Headset Holder
thingiverse
As students are learning from home, they are, more often than not, wearing earbuds, Airpods, or a headset to enhance their learning experience. However, after class, these devices are often thrown to the side, resulting in tangled earbuds and unsanitary storage, adding on the clutter of an already messy desk. With this device, students simply hook the holder onto the top of their laptop screen and store their earbuds and Airpods in the allocated spaces, or use the sliding latch on the side to pull up a bar for them to hook their headsets on. The Earbud, Airpod, and Headset Holder allows students to store their listening devices in an organized and sanitary way without having to worry about desk space or dropping them on the ground and getting them dirty. This device will promote both organization and cleanliness as students go through virtual learning during the pandemic. Some issues I encountered was the size of the holder. Due to the dimensions of an Airpod case, the holder proved to be too large and would cover up a portion of the computer screen. To combat this, I added a small hook on the back of the holder so that when the holder is attached with the hook facing the computer screen, the device would not cover up so much of the screen. If I could redesign this, I would try to make a sleeker and more modern design. I would also try to design a better mechanism for the headset bar because I was not very satisfied with the latch system I am currently using. 3D printing would definitely help strengthen my design as it provides enough structural support to hold the weight of the headset and hook onto the computer screen without falling apart.
