Ear Saver

Ear Saver

thingiverse

Wearing a mask for extended periods leaves unbearable irritation and inflammation at the back of the ear. This device has been created to minimize problems caused by mask strings. An oval "ring" is printed, then covered by a slotted 8mm EPE noodle using small spots of superglue. Hooks attach to existing mask strings, which may require tying a knot in the string if it becomes too loose. The EPE noodle can be obtained from furniture upholstery supply stores and should be closed-cell type. It can be replaced daily or when its cells collapse, causing pressure on the ABS ring. The EPE noodle typically lasts 15 days and can be wiped clean with IPA or non-corrosive sterilizing agents between uses. Disclaimer: This is a face mask accessory that has no effect on the efficacy of masks for preventing or eliminating disease contraction or propagation. Its purpose is to make life more comfortable while wearing an existing chosen mask.
