First of all, I'm sorry about my English - it's not my native language. My wife is a caregiver for our elderly and the standard ear saver version doesn't fit very well on her. It's still better than nothing but can slip in the neck and be quite uncomfortable when worn every day. I tried to create something more suitable, and there you have it - a sort of crown where you can attach a mask cord. You can easily adapt the position of the mask holder because all the ring is surrounded by small studs. It's probably upgradable, so let's see what the maker community can do with it. I hope it could help. Regarding printing, ABS works better than PLA because it's softer and fits better on the head. I haven't tried other materials yet. Unless you print very slowly, you'll need a fairly thick squirt to avoid sliding. PS: You can view this as an aureole adorning our guardian angels ;).
