Ear pad attachment for Sennheiser HDR180
thingiverse
This is a custom-made replacement component designed specifically for the Sennheiser HDR180 wireless headphones, which are an integral part of the RS180 wireless headphone system. Despite my initial attempts to disassemble the original ear cushions to clean them, I unfortunately managed to break some of the delicate hooks that hold them in place. The intricate design of these tiny hooks makes this a challenging 3D print project, and achieving precise dimensional accuracy is crucial for success. After experimenting with various filaments, including PETG, ASA, and GreenTEC, I ultimately settled on standard PLA as the best material for this print due to its exceptional layer-to-layer bonding properties. While other materials may offer superior performance in terms of numbers, PLA's versatility and forgiving nature when it comes to temperature settings make it an ideal choice for this project. Rather than simply purchasing replacement ear pads that come with these attachments, I chose to take on the challenge of creating a self-printed part, driven by curiosity and a desire to push the limits of what's possible with 3D printing technology. Besides, the satisfaction of creating something from scratch is far more rewarding than simply buying it off the shelf.
