Ear Guard
thingiverse
This tweak builds upon existing facemasks and ear guards, with design criteria centered around creating a part that is quick to produce yet effective in its purpose. Printed in PLA with a thickness of .75mm, it can be printed in two layers, significantly reducing the time required for printing. The original part was designed using SolidWorks, and an assembly was created by interleaving the parts to maximize the use of build plate space. This assembly was then saved as a single part in SolidWorks format (.sldprt) to ensure the printer treats it as a single entity, eliminating the need to space out individual components on the build plate. A minor cleanup is necessary after printing, but using fast print mode resulted in a total printing time of approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes for 17 parts.
