This VTOL drone was designed for Airbus and Local Motors' "Cargo Drone Challenge" using Autodesk Inventor 2016, SolidWorks 2016 CFD, and KeyShot 6. It's equipped with five T-10 motors (4 for vertical flight, 1 for horizontal), 26" three-blade propellers, and has a three-wing configuration: the main wing is over the center of gravity, boasting an area of 1,663 m², span of 4750 mm (AR = 13.5), Dihedral angle of 3º, and NACA 4412 profile; auxiliary wings have a symmetrical NACA 0016 profile for maneuverability. A V-tail is used for yaw control and an elevon-equipped wing on top of the V-tail handles pitch control, with the cargo compartment and battery also in the center of gravity. The IMU computer sits above the battery and cargo compartment, while a camera and other electronic systems are strategically placed around the cargo area. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, this design wasn't completed for entry into the challenge; however, an improved version is currently being developed as it's considered an innovative concept.
