Arm to Body Spacer for The Eachine 250 Racer Designing an arm to body spacer for the Eachine 250 Racer was a necessity to ensure proper fit and function. The stock arm connection on this quadcopter is quite close to the frame, which made it difficult to attach any attachments or cameras without obstructing the propellers. To overcome this limitation, I designed a custom arm to body spacer that would provide a comfortable clearance between the arms and the frame. This not only allowed for easier attachment of accessories but also improved the overall stability of the quadcopter during flight. Here is how I went about designing this spacer: Step 1: Measure the Arm Connection The first step was to accurately measure the distance from the arm connection point to the edge of the propeller. This measurement would serve as a reference for the design of the spacer. Step 2: Choose the Material For this project, I decided to use 3D printed PLA plastic as the material for the spacer. This material is lightweight, easy to print, and provides excellent durability. Step 3: Design the Spacer Using computer-aided design (CAD) software, I created a 3D model of the spacer based on my measurements. The design consisted of two main parts: a base plate that would attach to the arm connection point and a raised platform that would provide clearance between the arms and the frame. Step 4: Print the Spacer Once the design was complete, I sent it to my 3D printer for production. After printing, I removed any support material from the spacer and prepared it for assembly. Step 5: Assemble the Spacer To assemble the spacer, I attached the base plate to the arm connection point using a small screw. This secured the spacer in place and ensured that it would not move during flight. Step 6: Test the Spacer Finally, I tested the spacer by attaching my camera to the arm and flying the quadcopter. The results were impressive – the spacer provided sufficient clearance for the camera, allowing me to capture high-quality footage without obstructing the propellers. Overall, designing an arm to body spacer for the Eachine 250 Racer was a straightforward process that required careful measurement and design. With this spacer in place, I can now easily attach accessories to my quadcopter without compromising its performance.
