Folding Utility Knife Design This Liner Locking Folding Utility Knife features a standard utility knife/razor blade that can be easily exchanged when it gets dull, eliminating the need for sharpening. It is designed to print as one assembly with built-in supports and requires just one M3 x 10mm screw. Print Settings Printer Brand: RepRap Printer Model: MendelMax Rafts: Yes Supports: No Resolution: Optimized for 0.6mm extrusion width with Slic3r 1.2.9 Infill Percentage: 50% or more Important Notes A raft is highly recommended due to small and narrow features that may lift from the print surface otherwise. Never generate support material as all necessary supports are included in the design. Post-Printing Instructions After printing, carefully remove any support material with a knife and small pliers. The blade holder might be slightly stuck to the body, so it's best to force the knife open slightly further than full open to break free the blade holder from the liner lock feature and the pivot pin. Insert a standard utility knife blade into the blade holder and secure it by threading an M3 x 10mm screw into the plastic. To close the knife, push the liner lock out of the way and fold. Design Details This design was created using SolidWorks software and takes inspiration from the Gerber EAB knife.
