E5DD - Ender 5 Stock Direct Drive Top Mount

August 23, 2019: Revision 2 with the motor mounted to the rear now uploaded - I'm still printing a test part with Rev 2 to see if there are any changes (while still using a stock motor and stock fan setup). This is a top-mounted Direct Drive extruder and motor bracket designed specifically for the Ender 5. This bracket accommodates the stock hotend, Stock/Red Aluminum Creality extruder, and a standard/pancake motor. A short bowden tube connects the hotend to the extruder with two fittings touching each other (I'm currently unsure of the exact length). Most X-Carriage mounts found were either not sized properly for the Ender 5 or featured sizes/tolerances that were slightly off. This bracket is a remix of several existing mounts, combined with my own ideas and preferences. This bracket requires removal of only one X-axis wheel. Then, simply slip the bracket over the top and reinstall the wheel. I leave rearranging your filament path up to you, although you can refer to my photos for some inspiration.
