This is a mount specifically designed to accommodate the E3Dv6 hotend in its 3mm Bowden version, tailored for use with the Ultimaker Original. It's highly recommended that you purchase the full kit from http://e3d-online.com/E3D-v6/v6-3mm-Bowden, as most of the necessary parts, including the blue fanduct and screws, are included. Notably, E3D can swap out the 12V cartridge for a 24V model upon request, depending on your specific needs. However, it's crucial to avoid using the standard 12V cartridge from the kit with the Ultimaker Original (which runs at 19V), as this would result in significantly higher power consumption than intended. This mount may also be suitable for other printers that utilize a similar x-y gantry configuration, characterized by 6mm gantry shafts and an Y-shaft positioned 18mm above the X-shaft. The design is based on my previous E3Dv5 hotend mount, which itself was inspired by Nick Foley's "E3Dv5 integrated printhead" published on Thingiverse.com. My primary objectives with this new design were: 1. Achieve solid and reliable performance. 2. Optimize size and weight for maximum movement speed and build size. 3. Ensure that the printer operates reliably without issues. Instructions for printing are as follows: - Print each part exactly as it appears in the STL file, without any support structures. - Do not scale the parts; print them at their exact dimensions. - Use a 0.4mm diameter nozzle, similar to the Ultimaker standard nozzle. - Print with 0.1mm layer height, 0.8mm wall thickness (two passes), and 100% infill. - Utilize a material that offers strong layer bonding and high temperature resistance, such as Colorfabb XT or a comparable PET-G filament.
