These are for cutting cotton insulation strips to be used on the E3D V6 (newer) heat block, to make holes for nozzle, thermistor, heater, throat tube, and screws. I got tired of "winging it" when I rewrapped my hot end. Tape your cotton insulation against the non-flat side of a stencil, white side against the stencil. Turn it over on something hard - I used some scrap sheet aluminum backed up by a piece of hardwood. I clamped that together, then used the point of an exacto to cut the insulation completely. I double wrap my hot end, first back to front, then side to side. If you don't want to, you can choose one and use that, although I left a a few mm of extra insulation length between the heat block faces for the "outer layer", since it has to go around a block already wrapped in one direction. But it should still be OK. You'll still need to trim the insulation after you wrap it, including the fact that Kapton tape will cover nozzle and various holes. But this will be an adequate start.
