E3D Zero Offset Adapter for maker select v2
thingiverse
This is a zero offset adapter for an E3D hot end clone found at Amazon.com. I opted to utilize the existing hot end carriage because it's made of steel, and can withstand heat better, plus it already comes equipped with a parts cooling fan. This adapter makes use of the existing x-stop bar, bearing blocks, belt tensioner, cooling fan, and fan shroud, resulting in a build that's as minimal as possible. I have yet to install my wires and conduct tests but I can confirm that the fit is extremely snug, with plenty of room available for the fan included in the hot end kit. To ensure secure attachment, I replaced the existing 6 screws holding the carriage to the x bearing blocks with slightly longer screws. The x-stop sits atop the adapter as seen in the images. Parts required: * 6 - M4-0.70 x 12 screws * 2 - M4-0.70 x 25 screws * 2 - M4-0.70 nuts
