E3D Volcano Z-Probe Mount
thingiverse
I put this together because I found my options severely limited when it comes to a Z-probe on the V6-Volcano. It's designed to perfectly match the Volcano and be extremely well-built. It's also designed to mount the switch inside, allowing you to keep the trigger spot as close to the actual print head as possible. The square hole at the top is for routing the switch wires through, and I will probably zip tie them in place. The 8 holes below are for mounting a switch with or without a trigger arm, and in different spots, also to hopefully accommodate various types of switches. I used http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:627397 for the limit switch hole locations, and I used http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:660393 for the E3D-V6 Volcano dimensions. The design is similar to another model that I found on thingiverse, but it appears no longer be available. The other model was thin, didn't fit the volcano, and didn't have the right dimensions for the switch I used. If I find it again, I'll give it the source recognition it deserves. This thing was made with Tinkercad. You can edit it online at https://www.tinkercad.com/things/gG3H8ppy0AR UPDATE: So this is now working perfectly! The V2 worked for me because V1 with its 8 holes didn't hold up well. Probably because I printed it using a 1.2 nozzle (Volcano after all), and a small fill. I also took the picture before flipping around the screws, so the heads are on the outside, this allowed me to mount the switch even closer to the print nozzle. Using both pinch holes on the back end wasn't necessary; one held together just fine. To get started, you will need to: Print at a height of 0.4 using a 1.2mm nozzle and 20% fill (Fast Print).
