E3D+VET exercise: Fertilization of the ovum and maturation
thingiverse
This exercise is part of a series of 30 activities developed during the E3D+VET program. The purpose of this Erasmus+ program is to immerse VET centers in 3D printing, as described on their website at https://www.e3dplusvet.eu/. Ovum Spherical: Approximately 10 cm in diameter The ovum must be attachable to a plate. Sperm (Picture 1 and 2): Head: Ovate, measuring 0.3 cm in length Flagellum: Extending 3 cm in length, with a maximum diameter of about 1 mm To stabilize the flagella, sperms should lie on the ovum. There should be approximately 15 sperms distributed across the ovum. The head of one single sperm should be submerged half within the ovum. The surface of the ovum is irregular. Another possibility or idea involves creating a model of the ovum and multiple models of sperms with a plug socket attached to the ovum.
