E3D versions 5 & 6 Bowden (groovemount) Hot End Mounting Plates for Rostock MAX & Orion

This E3D all-metal hot end, specifically the Bowden version, is a worthwhile upgrade. I've designed part cooling fan ducts that work best when the hot end is mounted under the effector, which you can find on Thingiverse. (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:487768) Version 6 of the upper and lower mounting plates has been updated for better fit with the E3D v6. If you're using an older version, it's recommended to print this new one and discard the old one. It provides better resistance against the hot end being knocked by printed plastic that isn't lying flat, preventing layer shifting. Remember, a good hot-end mount is crucial for maintaining high print quality! Keep an eye on updates via the Watch feature. Note: The model comes with top-mount spacers for mounting your E3D on top of the effector platform. However, I've experienced jams when using this setup. It's best to mount the hot end under the effector to avoid these issues. I suspect it's due to the effector absorbing heat from the hot end and radiating it back, causing problems with PLA prints. Older changelogs are available in the Instructions tab. The idea for groovemount came from http://tricklaser.com/, while the two-plate concept was borrowed from h3ss. The model was created in Sketchup. For successful installation, ensure your fan is always on and heat shrink tubing protects hot end wiring. The lower plate slides onto the narrow part of the hot end near the top, while the upper plate contacts the lower one. Use #6-32 screws and nylon lock-nuts for fastening. The clearance around E3D is 0.15mm, and both pieces should fit securely without slack. Adjust filament multiplier as needed for a proper fit. Be careful during installation due to the hot end's fragility, especially around the heat break.
