E3D V6 split fan shroud
thingiverse
I combined a 30mm fan duct with a filament cooler duct to redirect one third of the air from the heat sink to the bed's filament, minimizing weight on my effector and cooling both the heat sink and printed material using just one fan. Tired of the constant breakage when snapping it on and off, I reinforced the sides with a rib for added strength. A tiny 5mm brim is included - trim away post print. Screw holes for the fan should be drilled out slightly for proper fitment. Print settings: no supports, no rafts, no unnecessary features. ABS plastic is recommended due to the high temperature exposure (hence the 5mm brim). I also created a standalone diverter that can be sandwiched between a 30mm fan and an E3D V6 heat sink shroud. Long skinny screws are required for assembly. Caution: taking one third of the air from the heat sink is not recommended, as it doesn't cool effectively, leading to clogs. I'm revisiting my design with a new 3-fan model. Related projects: * Effector * Carriages * Fan shroud * UBL adapter
