E3D-V6 Silicone cover Mold
thingiverse
This is a reusable mold for an E3D V6 silicone cover, designed specifically for clamped-thermistor V6 heater blocks. The idea behind this project came from a German YouTuber named Sehertest who created a similar mold for the Merlin hotend. The mold consists of three parts that are held together by a M4 screw and a 6mm steel rod. If you don't have access to a suitable rod, you can use the smooth part of a 6mm drill bit instead. It's also possible to attach a vibration motor to the rod using magnets. You'll need approximately 5.5g of high-temperature silicone for this project. I used a specific type of silicone that can be found on eBay under the item number 391144979833. Before using the mold, remove the support material from the hole in the inner mold and drill out the holes in both the inner and outer molds with a 6mm drill bit. As always, the FreeCAD file is included for further modification or customization.
