E3D V6 Hypercube Hotend Mount for Ender 3
thingiverse
I really like Tech2C's hotend/part-cooling arrangement and decided to make a version compatible with the Ender 3 pro. Credit to ardenpm for the BLTouch mount (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3152691) ENDSTOP CHANGES: The nozzle height should be about the same as the original hotend, but the nozzle is pushed forward quite a bit - about 25.5mm. This means you will need to move the y-axis endstop forward 25.5mm and will lose that amount in available y-axis bed space. I will be using this after I complete the Ender-extender 400 xl mod so that amount doesn't really matter to me but is roughly %11.5 of the original y-axis build plate. SLICER SETTINGS: Because the hotend will be pushed forward 25.5mm, you need to make sure you account for the reduced available build space in your slicer. The new build area will be 220mm for the x-axis and 194.5mm for the y-axis. ASSEMBLY: To assemble the mount, you will have to completely disassemble the hotend assembly on the ender 3. This includes the metal shroud, fans, and hotend. Once removed, the top two bolts for the v rollers will need to be removed. Once removed, place the main mounting plate onto the ender 3 carriage, there are counterbored holes that line up with the original hotend mounting holes. One lined up and flush against the carriage, thread the v roller bolts back through the holes and reassemble the top v rollers. Then use M3x5mm bolts to thread through the original hotend holes and the extra mounting hole on the far left of the mount. From there assembly should follow standard v6 hotend procedures. *Please note that I haven't tried this yet as I'm waiting to finish my ender extender upgrade so if there are any problems please let me know.
