E3D V6 hotend with BLTouch for Linear guide and 2020 Extrusion
thingiverse
This assembly features an E3D V6 hotend with BLTouch, direct drive, and a standard blower fan mount with duct. It mounts directly to an MGN12 linear rail/guide block, which is attached to a 2020 extrusion. The orientation of the X-axis drive motor should be vertical shaft with the belt running equatorial through the extrusion gap. This assembly includes a belt clamping mechanism on the bottom. Some useful features of this assembly include: - Complete isolation of the E3D V6 heatbrake cooler with an upward air deflection - 40mm fan mounting for the heatbrake cooler, ideally using a Noctua fan for silence - BLTouch mounting behind part cooling fan duct - Part cooling fan duct has a mounting point to the main body - Both part cooling blower fan and duct have a 2mm mounting gap to add a rubber washer for less noise (can be seen in the .3mf files) - The extruder is an integral part of the main body, adding rigidity - Nearly all of the mounting holes feature captive nuts To complete this assembly, you may need: Parts: - Nema 17 stepper motor - E3D V6 or V6 clone/J-head - BLTouch (optional) - 5015 blower fan (the most common type; a ball bearing model is recommended) - 40mm fan (Noctua is the preferred choice) Hardware: - Various lengths of M3 and M4 hardware, including button and socket head fasteners with nuts (it's beneficial to have lengths from 8-25mm on hand) - 694 (RS, Z, or ZZ) ball bearing for the extruder idler - MK7 extruder drive gear - M3 and M4 rubber washers - Short length of PTFE tube - M6 pneumatic fitting (optional)
