E3D V6 Hotend mount for Creality CR-10
thingiverse
I adjusted the files to lower the fan by an additional 1.5mm, putting it into a suitable position now. I've downloaded and tested various hotend mounts, and I strongly believe that the original positioning and size of the two mounting screws are not ideal for the E3D V6 hotend. Here's my solution to this issue - a sturdy mount that uses the original nozzle fan. It features M4 x 25 clamp screws and Nyloc nuts that fit snugly into the slots provided, securing it in place. The plate utilizes the three-wheel mounting points, but you'll need to replace the top-right M5 screw with a low-head cap screw, and all three screws will require longer lengths. A deliberate 0.5mm gap is built into the two clamp halves when they're fully assembled, so you won't have to force them together during tightening. The Z-axis is now accurately positioned on my printer, but I had to modify the limit switch as it came from the manufacturer. This adjustment offers flexibility with Z-home positioning, which can be useful for thicker plates or other custom setups. However, the X-axis home position is about 2mm too far forward. I'm unsure of the ideal fan placement; please let me know if you have any insight on this matter. Once I receive my new nozzle fan, I plan to add a connector holder similar to the existing ones. The design includes a retaining clip for the heating wires, as shown in an accompanying image.
