e3d v6 fan duct
thingiverse
I needed a V6 cooling fan that met my standards, so I took matters into my own hands and designed one myself. This design is optimized to work seamlessly with the mount I created, but it should also be compatible with various other mounting solutions on the market. For optimal performance, you'll want to apply some metal tape around the duct's tips to prevent them from melting near the heaterblock. My setup features a silicone sock on my heaterblock in addition to the tape, and so far, it seems to be functioning well. This custom fan uses a 50x20 blower fan with an opening size of 26x12mm. The STEP files are included, making it easy to adjust the design to accommodate different fans. If you have a specific fan in mind that you'd like this duct to work with, please provide me with its dimensions and I'll be happy to upload a modified version for you. My mount is designed specifically to integrate with an inductive sensor, and you can find more information about it on Thingiverse at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3566562. This design draws inspiration from the part found at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1438795, which would also be compatible with this duct.
