e3d v6 adapter for Monoprice Select Mini V1
thingiverse
Nearly zero-offset adapter allows seamless integration of e3d v6 hotend with Version 1 of popular Monoprice Select Mini, enabling use of third-party e3d v6 hotends and nozzles to accommodate a wide variety of filaments. With this adapter in place, jagged edges and jams become a thing of the past, and switching nozzles is now a straightforward process. Note: Different nozzle heights may require modifications to these adapters to avoid bed dragging when using shorter nozzles that don't protrude as far from the heater block. Updated 7/2/2017 - This version includes an additional backplate that is 4 mm taller, accommodating printing on 3-4 mm borosilicate glass. The new backplate lifts the e3d v6 assembly up by 4 mm, allowing users to print on a glass plate without needing to use a z-axis limit switch adapter. However, this may require adjusting how far the nozzle sticks out, as nozzles close to the heater block can be too high and hit the bed. Updated 7/8/2017 - This version incorporates a new front clamp with a fan for the heat sink, as well as a hidden shroud that directs air to cool extruded filament. The front mount is counter sunk to allow the use of shorter screws, secured by 25-30 mm M3 screws. Updated 7/18/17 - A new front clamp has been added to allow installation of a 40 mm fan in addition to the default fan, along with improved shroud and air director. Updated 7/19/17 - Enlarged mounting holes for sinking screw heads have been made, as well as improvements in alignment and modified air holes to enhance airflow. Updated 7/25/17 - Further refinements were made to the fan shroud to optimize airflow for cooling extruded filament. Updated 9/13/17 - A spacer was created for the 40mm fan to allow more air for the e3dv6 adapter's 30mm fan. Additionally, a small spacer was printed to hold nuts in place while attaching the backplate. Updated 9/16/2017 - The mounting surfaces were smoothed. Updated 11/5/2017 - A smaller shroud and adapter for the 40mm fan were created since the previous design could drag on the bed/prints if the nozzle wasn't low enough. Updated 12/2/2017 - The 40mm adapter and shroud were reworked to redirect air towards the plate and away from the hotend. Updated 1/21/2018 - The 30mm adapter and shroud were reworked to redirect air towards the plate and away from the hotend, eliminating an air leak from the secondary fan in early versions. Backplates have also been reworked to allow nuts to be "press fit", eliminating the need for the previous spacer.
