E3D V6 adapter for Metal Plus
thingiverse
I recently finished upgrading my Printrbot Metal Plus by swapping out its original hotend for an E3D V6. Along the way, I gave this adapter a try, located at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:559657, but unfortunately it didn't quite do the trick for me. Next up, I found another design, created by FooFighter94 and listed on thingiverse as http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:822790 - but after attempting to use this one too, it still didn't work out as hoped. As it turned out though, FooFighter94's adapter was just a bit too long for my needs. In the end I ended up taking his design and cutting about 5mm off its total length before it started printing nicely. Moving forward with the setup, one thing I am planning to add is a slight modification involving an adapter approximately 2 mm thick in order to shift the parts cooling shroud to a new location that aligns perfectly with the tip of my newly installed hotend.
