E3D V6 40mm Fan Guard
thingiverse
My original fan guard was V6 over a honeycomb mesh, but it had a major flaw - the Noctua fans were so quiet that you couldn't hear them running. I found it nearly impossible to see through the mesh to check if the fan blades were actually turning. This is just the V6 logo in a circle, a shout-out to Toys who inspired me with his video print screen. Now, I can glance at the fan and quickly see if it's spinning. Since the 40mm Noctua fan uses M5 screw holes, I also included a file for some pins that will hold them in place. For my angled setup, gravity does the trick, but if your fan is vertical, just print the pins a little bigger and they'll be held tight with friction.
