E3D V6 40mm Blower Fan Adapter
thingiverse
Mounting a 40mm blower fan on an E3D v6's standard 30mm fan shroud requires some creative modifications. Begin by removing the existing 30mm fan from its mounting points and set it aside for later use. Next, carefully separate the top and bottom halves of the 30mm fan shroud using a pair of needle-nose pliers or a small screwdriver. Be cautious not to damage any internal components during this process. Using a Dremel tool or a similar rotary cutting device, slowly remove material from the center of the E3D v6's fan shroud until it is roughly 40mm in diameter. Take care to avoid overheating the device and ensure that all removed material is disposed of properly. Once the modified fan shroud has cooled, carefully reattach the top and bottom halves using a small amount of thermal adhesive or super glue. Make sure they are securely fastened to prevent any further damage during use. Finally, mount the 40mm blower fan onto the modified fan shroud using the existing mounting points. Secure it firmly in place with screws or clips provided with the fan.
