E3D V6 3mm Bowden Mount for Taz
thingiverse
Mounts the 3mm V6 bowden version by E3D directly onto your 3D printer setup. To secure it firmly, get all three parts - the mount, retainer, and extruder body - as a trio is recommended for optimal stability. The groove mount serves primarily to attach the other two components in place. The extruder body is critical when running the bowden version of the hotend. Upgrading with this part allowed me to use a bowden tube directly from the hobbed bolt to the heat break within the V6, providing a reliable pathway without any issues with flexible filaments becoming pinched or twisted during the print job. As a bonus, this arrangement avoids potential buckling. You'll also need to account for the Bowden v6's unique shape by leaving just a small section of the tubing uninstalled - the excess parts can be stashed away. No additional hardware is required unless you plan on building a separate extruder from scratch; simply swapping out components in your existing Taz 4 setup will suffice. Taz owners take note: This bowden setup works beautifully on the Taz 5 too! As a proof of concept, I've adapted my original extruder design for Fangtooth to make this setup work seamlessly with any printer sporting the V6 configuration. For the curious print engineer out there - an aluminum mount might fit perfectly on your Hexagon hot end if needed
