E3D Titan Modified Extruder
thingiverse
The gentleman who originally designed this included the .stp file for these parts, and I am truly grateful. I have made sure to include all relevant files: .ipt, .stl, and .stp. As an Autodesk Inventor 2018 student, I was able to access these formats easily. My modifications are specifically tailored for the LM8LUU (8x15x45mm) bearing used at the top. I have moved the outermost zip-tie mounting holes inward by 2.4 mm, positioning them at 45.2mm within the bearing pocket. To address the difficulty in finding M3 screws of sufficient length, I have counterbored all screw holes to accommodate both M3 and M4 fasteners. Since M4 screws are often readily available in longer lengths locally, I have taken this into consideration as well. The three screw mounting points have been extended to provide additional clearance for the titan extruder screws. Since my modifications involve using M3 screws exclusively, I will not be printing the parts with M4 screw holes. However, this option remains available for those who may encounter difficulties in sourcing long enough M3 screws. For optimal results on a Stratasys uPrint SE, I recommend printing at 0.2-0.3 layer heights and a minimum of 30% infill density. If using ABS or similar filaments, it is crucial to maintain this level of infill to prevent part failure. For M4 parts specifically, you may want to increase the infill percentage to 40% for added stability. I hope you enjoy these modifications!
