e3d-titan extruder lever extension
thingiverse
The e3d titan extruder is an outstanding improvement over the wades-style design, crafted from injection-molded components. However, it has one notable flaw: in its current iteration, users must manually push around or through the bowden tube (or even the filament) to activate the lever, making the process of removing filament from the extruder somewhat uncomfortable. To rectify this issue, an updated design extends the lever and incorporates a ergonomic cup-shaped area for easier pressing down upon, effectively avoiding pressure on both the bowden tube and/or the filament. Assembly Requirements: The assembly necessitates two M3x10 countersunk screws plus M3 nuts to secure the components together. If issues arise with parts not fitting or closing properly around the lever: Heating the channel with a blowtorch is an effective solution, softening (not melting!) the material slightly to facilitate adjustment. Once softened, close the two parts around the lever and imprint the desired shape.
