This part is a custom mount to adapt an E3D Titan extruder to a direct drive Ultimaker 2 extruder designed by Jasonatepaint. The filament path is fully guided from the extruder drive gear to the hotend by a short length of PTFE tubing, which I used to keep weight at a minimum. A pancake style Nema17 motor was chosen for its compact size and low mass. Original Bowden PFTE is used as a feeder line to the extruder, connecting it directly to the Titan mount. Post-Printing Procedures Preparing printed parts requires some attention to detail. Start by using a 4mm drill bit to clean out any debris from the hole where the PTFE tube will be inserted. Next, use a 3mm drill bit to clear out any mounting holes in the base of the extruder. Finally, drill a 3mm hole through the lower left stepper screw mount from the back side. Assembly Guide To assemble the E3D V6 hotend into the X-Y carriage, follow these steps: Prepare your PTFE tube by cutting it to the correct length, which is approximately 16mm shorter than the extruder body. Next, fix the Extruder body to the mount with a short M3 screw inserted into the stepper motor, following the instructions provided with the Titan mount. Finally, fit the Bowden collar and filament guide to the Titan Extruder body. After verifying that the PTFE guide is fully seated in the hotend, install the mount with the extruder body over the PTFE tube and secure it with M3x50 screws and nuts into the x-y carriage. For complete instructions, refer to the manufacturer's guidelines for assembling the Titan extruder.
