E3D Titan 1.75mm Filament Guides

## Introduction Replacement Filament Guides for E3D Titan. I was having issues printing flexible filaments due to the filament getting squeezed past the hob gear and bunching up. This problem was caused by excessive clearance between the injection molded PTFE guide and the gear. Stock components have a 0.4mm gap between the guide and the hobbed gear, which is 25% of the filament's thickness and easily enough space for the filament to be forced through when printing NinjaFlex. I designed these guides to reduce that clearance down to almost zero and bring the PTFE tube right up to the gear. So far this has done the trick, but I will keep you updated with any new developments (see updates). ## Printing The part is available with a 4.1, 4.2, and 4.3mm hole in the middle, so you can choose the one which prints best on your printer to fit your PTFE tube (4.2 was best on mine). I printed them at 0.1mm layer height on my modified CR-10. #### Update 1: This part does a great job of constraining the filament as it leaves the hobbed gear, but I am now having problems with the filament moving to the side before it arrives at the hobbed gear, causing it to bunch up. I will be designing a piece to go between the idler and the top of the hobbed gear. Stay tuned for more information. #### Update 2: I have just uploaded a piece which goes above the hobbed gear and constrains the filament. The printer is running now with NinjaFlex and so far it is working well. Pictures will follow. I have also updated the design for the lower guide to increase the amount of material at the top, making it more sturdy. Numbers have been added to the bottom to show what size they are: 1,2 & 3 for 4.1mm, 4.2mm and 4.3mm respectively.
