E3D mount for MP Select Mini

I wanted to upgrade my Select Mini Printer with a new E3D that would provide separate cooling for better performance. I desired a radial fan setup that could be easily disconnected and mounted directly to the hotend carriage, which wasn't possible with existing designs. This is still a work in progress as I continue to refine the design based on precise measurements. I haven't printed or tested it yet, but I'm making good progress. To keep cords organized, I added a small hook on the left side of the E3D mount to secure them in place using zip ties. This ensures that the thermistor and thermocouple remain accessible on that side. UPDATE 2016-08-30: After printing the first version with supports, I encountered some issues. The supports proved difficult to remove, causing me to open up the nozzle more than intended, which compromised the cooling vent's internal smoothness. To fix this, I'm considering alternative support orientations or designs. The E3D is extremely snug in its clamp, preventing it from closing as originally designed. I need to add a chamfer to that edge or adjust the clamp's dimensions (TODO). Additionally, the nozzle could be slightly longer by 1-2mm to improve printing performance (TODO). The radial fan fits perfectly into place. UPDATE 2016-09-02: To address airflow restrictions, I redesigned the vent with internal filets. This should allow me to print without using supports inside, which was my primary goal (TESTING NOW). I've also created a backup design that enables manual support insertion internally. Furthermore, I fixed the E3D mount snuggness and moved the nozzle down by 1mm. To facilitate printing without Cura-generated supports, I added a w_supports file for testing purposes. UPDATE 2016-09-04: After further refinement, the printer printed successfully. However, the clamp remains super snug despite additional space being provided. Moving the nozzle down improved printing results, and using handmade support versions worked well. Print Settings: Printer: Monoprice Select Mini Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 75 Notes: For maximum adhesion, I chose not to use rafts or brim but opted for printing with a brim instead, which provided the best resolution against the build surface.
