E3D hotend mount for RepRap Mendel
thingiverse
This is a model that lets you mount an E3D hotend to a standard RepRap Mendel 3D printer. Please be aware of the following: This design uses captive nuts. You have two options - either print the version where you can place them after printing, labeled as Hotend_holder_plate_post_placeable_nuts_final.stl, or pause the print and put them in before continuing, which results in a stronger bond. Captive nut and bolt dimensions The three bolts used to attach the outer part to the inner part have diameters of 3.8mm, thread lengths of approximately 15.5mm (no unthreaded section). Correspondingly, the nuts have across flat measures of 7mm and are 2.9mm deep. Printer attachment is designed to work with the original printer nuts and bolts since it's a replacement for the plastic hotend mount. The fan can be attached using screws normally used on the original (usually blue) fan mount for the E3D hotend. Print settings Printer: RepRap Mono Mendel Rafts: No Supports: No Notes: This design uses captive nuts that need to be inserted during the print process, or else it won't work properly. Check the model to see where to place the 3 captive nuts.
