A Customized Head for an Ultimaker2 with E3D Volcano Hotend Print Settings Printer Brand: Ultimaker Printer Model: Ultimaker 2 Raft Settings: No Preference Support Material: None Required Infill Density: Maximum Design Overview The components in this revised head were engineered from various online sources. Sources: Head Design: thingiverse.com/thing:992952 Fan Components: thingiverse.com/thing:794361 SolidEdge Drawing Files are available upon request for modification purposes. These parts were printed on a Dimension SST1200ES using ABS and support material, but can be used with any printer. The mount features two holes in the slot that holds the y-axis bearing, allowing M3 nuts to be inserted before the bearings are pushed in. Two M3 machine screws secure the clamp tightly. The 30mm fan mount provides an option for using a 40mm long M3 screw and nut to securely attach it to the heat sink. This design eliminates issues with lugs breaking when tightening cable ties. It is recommended to install the rear fan first, then attach the mount to the heat sink, in case the mount breaks during assembly.
