Was having severe under-extrusion issues with various plastics after upgrading to the Capricorn PTFE tubing, so purchased an E3D Hobb Goblin extruder gear from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071LDTFK4/. However, the new gear had a smaller outer diameter, which made it impossible for the stock or upgraded CR-10 extruder parts to align correctly. Instead of returning the gear and buying a lower-quality alternative or upgrading all the way to a Bond Tech extruder, I redesigned the existing extruder mount and sensor bracket to fit the smaller diameter and apply extra pressure on the filament. I'm now able to print faster than stock without stripping the filament even on filaments that were previously having issues with the Capricorn tubing. I've also settled on 131 steps per mm for optimal results. Edit: Experienced problems with high-retraction models where the extruder gear was chewing a flat spot into the filament, so uploaded an updated extruder bracket with a 3mm offset for the spring instead of 4mm to reduce pressure on the filament. This appears to be working well, but I'm continuing to test and refine it.
