E3D Hobb Goblin GEEETECH extruder flexible filament guide
thingiverse
Because of the design of the popular after-market Geeetech MK8 extruder it's difficult to use flexible filaments such as NinjaFlex(tm). A lot of people have designed and published similar modifications, but this one stands out. This guide is specifically tailored for use with the E3D Hobb Goblin 5mm extruder gear. I prefer using it because I really like its performance. Because its smaller diameter, the filament output sits at a slight angle towards the PC4-M6 pneumatic fitting. This modification fixes this issue. (At delta X, it measures about 1.2 mm offset to the right). The original straight cut gear is larger in diameter. The original bearing has a concave surface where the filament rides on, which acts as a guide for the original gear. Parts Needed: ------------- + 1x E3D Hobb Goblin extruder gear replaces the original gear. + 1x Bearing "624ZZ" - ID: 4mm - OD: 13mm - Depth: 5mm, replaces the original bearing. + A piece of Teflon tubing with 3mm outer diameter and 2mm inner diameter. Leave it long so it goes all the way in to reach the PC4-M6 pneumatic fitting. Insert and cut to the shape of the guide on one end using a sharp, thin blade.
