I'm excited to share version 1.0 of my E3d V5 heatsink and project cooler, designed with PLA printing in mind. To keep my prints cool while working at high speeds, I normally have two fans blowing on the project and another on the E3d itself. This setup is a lot to handle, so I decided to merge these functions into one by repurposing an old CPAP machine for airflow. The result is a cooler with plenty of capacity and a lightweight design. When it comes to printing with ABS, where cooling can be a hindrance, my typical response has been that I simply don't print with this material. However, I'm now facing a series of prints that require ABS, prompting me to update the design and make it compatible without needing project cooling - stay tuned for version 2.0!
