E3D Head for my Ultimaker (Direct Intrusion E3D Version of the Head)

thingiverse

A work in progress, this custom printhead fits E3D and default UM hotends, secured to bearings for easy replacement without disassembling the entire 3D printer. Expect updates as testing continues on the printed and assembled design; however, no mounting to the UM has been done yet. The creator plans to post an update if performance proves satisfactory, and will also create a fan mount. In an update, new linear bearings were successfully mounted, but endswitches required repositioning. A revised design is being created to accommodate default end switches. Two new versions are available: one without support for partial bearing coverage, and another needing support for full coverage. Screws and additional files are specified for each version. The creator asks for patience as the printer is occupied with other tasks before testing this modification. To-do list includes adding a vent mount and live tests with ABS printing. Remember, these instructions are for an unfinished project, so use with caution and expect potential issues.
