E3D Fan Duct with DC42 Differential IR Sensor Mount (E3D Titan Version Available)
thingiverse
This is a pressure-mounted fan and differential IR sensor mount for the E3D V6 extruder. It combines two excellent things: the E3D V6 fan shroud and simon0362's slimline sensor mount, usually placed between the fan and the fan shroud. Simply screw the sensor board onto the mount with the capacitor facing forward and then screw in the fan. The mount clips to the heat sink exactly like the official one. To get started, recalibrate your printer's M851 offset. Then you're good to go. Creation pipeline: Slic3r for mashing up and slicing, pronsole to feed gcode, and a lovely wreck of a reprap printer. UPDATE: A version designed to bolt onto an E3D Titan has been added, providing enhanced vertical and rotational stability. The simpler version can be bumped or messed with, knocking your offset out of whack, requiring recalibration of the distance between nozzle and bed at Z=0. This helps alleviate that by using the extruder body to keep the entire assembly at a constant distance. The added flange is a bit ugly but sits level on the E3D Titan faceplate. Print Settings Printer: MendelMax 1.5 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.3mm Infill: 30% Notes: Printed using MakerGeeks 1.75mm PLA at 30% infill, 0.3mm layer height. PLA on the fan shroud doesn't heat up to speak of when kept above the heater block while printing. If unsure, print with ABS or something with an even higher temperature tolerance.
