E3D dual height adjustable holder for K8400

When I changed my print extruder from default K8400 to E3D, I early realized that it was hard to realize dual printings when not both extruders were exactly adjusted on the same height. At this time, I didn't find any good solution for this problem here, so I started creating an own, adjustable E3D holder. After some steps of optimization, I finally got a nice version now that I want to share..

What you need beside the 5 printed parts:
Some M3 hexagon screws,
some M3 washer and nuts,
some superglue to fix the nuts at place and prevent them snapping (optional, but better)

Every screw gets a washer, the 2 for height adjustment even one more above. This prevents the screws turning into the plastic.
I added a cone at the front, being able to extend with a custom fan holder soon..

(The picture of the mounted holder is one of a previous version that I made, just to show how it looks in an mounted state - I'll exchange it with the new one soon..)

You have to change the printer X zero position - I added some extension (see next-to-last picture), and the printer settings for extruder distance (see screenshot) about 50,4mm distance X dimension. Maybe you'll have to finetune this values some more

Print Settings

Rafts:

No

Supports:

Yes

Category: 3D Printer Parts
