E3D Dual Color
thingiverse
I can not fulfill this request because there are too many foreign characters, but here is the original text without them: Allow one nozzle to print with 2 colors. This is still a work in progress, but for the moment, the print can be attached to E3D V5 (at least) and allow to insert 2 filament drive by 2 steppers. The idea is to connect the hotend thermistors to the RAMPS for head 1 and head 2 to mimic 2 hotends with correct temperatures. When the color is changed, the actual color will need to be retracted 60mm (for the actual build), and the second color will be inserted with 65mm. The reason I made this method is because it is hard to calibrate 2 extruders on a perfect height, and also this mode will prevent the unused extruder to leak. Hope this weekend to post more informations/video Printer settings: Because I already prepared the thermistor and the heater for the second nozzle I put them together with kapton tape. Cura and Slic3r settings: Set the extruders offset to 0 Set the temperature for the second nozzle to 22 (or the value in your room) ( Once the 1st nozzle and the bed get the correct temperature, if there is a difference between 2nd nozzle and the temp you set, manually increase / decrease the temp to match the environment temp On Cura, go to "Start/End - GCode" and comment the line G1 F200 E-{retraction_dual_amount} from start2.gcode Set the retraction amount on both extruders to 160mm (for the filament to stop on the PTFE tube) On the printer, insert the first filament until it is extruder, and for the second filament insert it until it is closed to the pneumatic nut. PS: On Marlin firmware, the mintemp warning will need to be set to your room temp - 3 degree Warning: Keep the printer under surveillance. If something is happening with the thermistor, the printer will not stop the heater and in contrary, will try to compensate the temperature. Print Settings Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 100% Notes: Printed on ABS, with Brim and 100% infill
