E3D Cyclops/Chimera Micro Extruder

This follows the same principles as my Micro DUAL/QUAD Extruder, but I have reduced the pitch of the hot end input feeds to 18mm from 20mm for the E3D Cyclops Hotend. It's also compatible with the E3D Chimera Hotend. This direct drive dual extruder has a small footprint (105mm x 42mm x 42mm), including motors, which means it can fit into even the tightest spaces. The extruder is built to be highly reliable and efficient, making it perfect for a variety of applications. The extruder ducts cool the Nema 17 motors, MK7 drive, and plastic body through airflow, reducing overheating and prolonging the lifespan of the components. This also makes it ideal for printing with flexible filaments. Filament support is fully implemented after the MK7 gear wheel, allowing for a 4mm OD PTFE tube insert to be added down into the Cyclops hotend for printing with flexible filaments. Full details can be found on the Gyrobot website at http://www.gyrobot.co.uk and on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/gyrobotuk. **Printing Instructions** Print the extruder without support, as all necessary geometries are built-in. However, it's essential to remove the lower feet near the cooling fan pocket. Secure the extruder using a mounting plate for your printer by screwing down in three places through the hot end. Before attaching the motors, access two of the screw heads. A drilling template is provided to guide you in placing the holes in your extruder base mounting plate. You can design your own printer adaptor or use the Orca 0.4x template provided. Use Bulldog clips for idler tension springs and adjust them according to your requirements. The clips should fit into small holes under the tensioner arms and main body. For optimal performance, make sure your MK7 gear teeth are sharp so that less spring force is needed. You can use the stock E3D Cyclops fan or upgrade to a larger 40x40x10 fan to divert some of the airflow through the extruder and motor gears. Insert the 4mm OD PTFE Tube (supplied with Cyclops) from the extruder gears down into the hot end heat breaks, and trim it to fit around the MK7 drive gears. Additionally, use another small piece of 4mm OD PTFE Tube above the MK7 drive gear as a feed tube to make loading filament easier.
