Update 11/15/2015 - Design work is now complete. - All mounting flanges on side mount designs have been thickened for added rigidity. - STEP files for all models, including master assembly, are now available online. - A new design has been uploaded based on user BigMike609's input. This centered side mount design hangs from under the platform and offers the benefits of both side mount and top mount designs. I will be using this design going forward as it allows use of either Cyclops or Chimera hot ends. Thanks to Mike for the suggestion! All three designs currently in development feature a hole for wiring that accommodates a 2-pin XT60 connector, allowing for easy installation. Side Mount (centered) This design is specifically tailored for Cyclops users due to the size limitations imposed by Chimera's heater blocks. By placing the nozzle at the center of the platform, this mount offsets the heater block to one side, providing a minimum clearance of 1.3mm between the heater and platform. Side Mount (offset) This Cyclops-only design centers the heater block in the platform, which results in a 3mm offset in Y-axis for the nozzle. The minimum clearance between the heater and platform is set at 2.7mm. Top Mount This top mount adapter allows users to employ both Cyclops and Chimera hot ends while sacrificing some Z-height. To accommodate platform LED rings and add rigidity, this design features a stepped rather than flat surface. Support material will be required for this design.
