I was searching for a reliable way to attach an E3D V6 to my Anet A8, but none of the solutions I found really met my needs until I came across this modular design on Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2366151. This mount attaches directly to the carrier plates and provides clearance for the clamp in the center. Unfortunately, the large cooling fan design wasn't what I needed. As I worked on the design, I decided to include mounts for my 40mm fan and auto bed level sensor. The design quickly grew, and it's now in revision 5 with the fan and accessory mounts in revision 3. What this design offers is a lightweight mounting system that incorporates multiple solutions in one package. It can be easily swapped out as needed, just like any other component using this carriage design. Key features include: -- Multiple rail mount systems for bed level sensors, fan shrouds, and more -- An integrated cooling duct that accepts both styles of Anet A8 cooling ducts, including top-mounted fans for different sizes -- An integrated cable chain mount that utilizes chain from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1905344/ -- A keyed accessory mount for high weight/strength requirements Here's how it works: The accessory mount can be modified as needed; I've included a profile sketch. It's held in place by a 4mm screw through the top single hole. The fan mount also has a profile sketch, and I use a 40mm fan so that's what's included. Feel free to create your own with the profile sketch if you need a different size. If I'm not busy with work, I might adapt it for other sizes - just ask! The end of the fan duct is an exact match for the stock blower fan included with the Anet A8. This means that any cooling duct designed for the stock fan should also work here, including those that mount internally or externally. External mounts will need to be trimmed slightly on one side to fit the contour. I've tested this design with https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2133328 and https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1438439. If your favorite cooling duct doesn't work with your heating block and this mount, let me know in the comments and link to the thing. 10/22/2017 EDIT: I'm currently setting up my firmware and don't like how far my bed sensor is from the nozzle. I'll be fixing this soon. 10/31/2017 EDIT: I've recently switched to ABS for a production job, but I've had some issues with warping between the tower that extends down on the right and heat. This isn't a problem below 72C in my experience. I use that rail to mount my bed level sensor, so it creates a problem that becomes apparent quickly. I'm currently printing a new sensor mount to fix this issue. In the meantime, I recommend adding some heat shielding between your hot end, bed, and the tower. A bit of tinfoil works well - just tape it on with some kapton. This is all temporary until I can print the new version out of ABS. If you can't use ABS, try increasing your infill to 50 or so if you're using the bed above 72C.
