E3D 40x40 Fan Duct
thingiverse
I couldn't find any luck in discovering a fan duct for the E3D v6 hotend that would fit a 40x40 fan with ducts designed for cooling prints, so I decided to create one myself. To print this design successfully, have the fan side facing towards the build plate. Printing it without support should be feasible under these conditions. I personally printed out this fan duct and encountered no issues during the process, however, let me know if any adjustments are required or if you would like me to make any modifications. The original Solidworks files used in designing this fan duct have been uploaded for those who may prefer to alter the design on their own rather than wait for further revisions. I am posting an updated version with narrower active cooling outlets known as "fan shroud 8mm.STL" on March 16th. For optimal usage of this design, simply follow these instructions: Print it with the fan facing towards the build plate, eliminating the need for supports. Upon completing your print, carefully remove any built-in supports located near the nozzle. As this duct was specifically designed to fit onto a Kossel Mini model, keep in mind that it is meant for use on such an effector. In order to secure the hotend from rotating, a single M3x20mm screw can be utilized during the installation process onto your Kossel Mini effector. To gain further clarity on these instructions, consult the attached pictures where applicable.
