About a month ago, I helped a client who needed to secure objects to a lamp socket. I searched everywhere but couldn't find an E26 Edison Screw base design, so I obtained a copy of the IEC document that outlined the thread specifications and then used Alibre (GeoMagic) CAD to create a detailed drawing. Next, I generated an STL file from my design. The part worked flawlessly! It fits perfectly into a lamp socket, screwing in with ease. Interestingly, around the same time, someone else had created a similar solution on Thingiverse (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:127303). Instructions: I recommend printing with the wide base facing downwards on the bed for optimal results. This approach worked best for me. The design features a hole that allows you to tap in a 1/4-20 screw, enabling secure attachment of objects. Please be cautious and avoid using this part where it could potentially come into contact with live electricity.
