The threaded base of a standard North American light bulb is being tested for a 12V DC LED fixture rewiring project. Although optional, it provides a practical means to place the LEDs in the existing socket location. Accurate measurements were obtained using eyes and calipers, with a successful initial fit. However, this base should not be used on high voltage AC circuits.
