E24 Series Resistor Storage Solution

Four Section Resistor Storage Solution for the Full E24 Series The E24 series consists of 24 values, each existing on six powers of ten. For example: 1e0, 1e1, 1e2, 1e3, 1e4, 1e5, or 1e6, as seen on the labels: 1.0, 10, 100, 1k, 10k, 100k, and 1M. This totals 144 different resistor values. Technically, the E24 series is for five percent resistors, but it's easy and affordable to obtain these common values as one percent resistors. These drawers can also be used for other small components, and the labels could easily be made from cardstock instead of being printed. The full set of four frames, 24 drawers, and 144 labels required over 100 hours of printing time. Each drawer weighs approximately 1.3 kilograms, each frame weighs about 0.67 kilograms, and the labels weigh around 75 grams. All components were made from PLA at 15% infill. There is a hole in the back of the frame in the middle of each slot for mounting with standard wood screws. The photos show the screws used. Each drawer has a small indented section to fit over the screw head, and each section within the drawers features a rounded floor, making it easier to remove components. The entire set was designed using Fusion 360. To simplify label creation, I connected various labels in a single group with thin "bars," allowing Fusion to count them as a single body for patterning text. These "bars" will be ignored by any slicer. If you want to create your own labels, use the following specifications: Width: 25.8mm (or slightly larger for a snug fit) Height: 18.2mm (consider using a slightly lower value) Thickness: 0.8mm (four layers at 0.2mm) Corner fillets: 1mm (important for easy label insertion) Number height: 8mm Number font: Artifakt Element Black (nice because the four doesn't have a floating center) Unit height: 9mm Unit font: Arial (Bold) You will need to add small details to hold any inner areas that may float (for 0, 6, 8, and 9) 2017-11-08 - Added an STL for testing a compartment and an image showing measurements. 2017-11-08 - Added a drawer version compatible with 0.8mm nozzles 2017-12-02 - Updated the 0.4mm and 0.8mm drawers to prevent issues in S3D, and corrected the 620 Ohm and 620 kOhm labels (they were mistakenly labeled as 640).
